Am I the only one suffering from too much information?
There's SO MUCH information out there, but while information is valuable, too much information can be a negative thing.
I believe that in order to best serve you as a productivity expert, I need to be a student first.
And that means always learning.
In fact, I spend a minimum of one hour every day (seven days a week) learning how to...
How long have you been thinking to yourself, it's time to get serious?
Maybe you finally want to:
- start a side hustle
- write a book
- launch a YouTube channel
- lose weight
- learn a language
- get training that will help you advance
- start working out regularly
- begin eating better
- get more (better?) sleep
The WHAT doesn't matter.
You know what you want to do. And you probably know the how. So, why haven't you taken any or much action yet?
Saying you're going to do something...
In the United States, we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th. This is when we commemorate the Declaration of Independence of the United States (from England), on July 4, 1776 (Wikipedia).
But I want to write about another form of independence.
Today, I want you to declare your freedom from:
- negativity (including news and social media that makes you angry)
- toxic people and things (such as video games)
- food/drink that's not good for you (what the body doesn't need) ...
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Are you sick of feeling like you're a hamster on a wheel?
I've got you.
No matter where or who you are.
Before I give you the "magic" solution, let me tell you my story.
I was fired in July of 2005. From then until the end of 2020, I made $40,000.
Not a year.
I share that with you because I have this theory that I can't prove as I don't have the desire to pay for a study to be conducted. I believe that Pareto's Principle is alive and...
Before I begin, let me acknowledge that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused a lot of physical and emotional pain to many. What I'm about to share with you is by no means meant to diminish any pain anyone has suffered during these unprecedented times.
I believe that blessings can be found in almost any situation, good or bad, if you look for them.
On March 11, 2020, the National Basketball Association (NBA) suspended the 2019-2020 season due to the pandemic.
The National Hockey League (NHL)...
Have you ever stopped to think about the last time you did something or visited someplace?
For reasons I can't explain, this happened to me recently.
I thought about when I used to go to ice hockey games back in my hometown of Rochester, New York: the Rochester Americans (Rochesterians call them the Amerks). The Amerks play in the American Hockey League.
I would go to games quite frequently as a kid and young adult. I can vividly remember riding with my Dad from our westside...
According to Wikipedia, The Pareto Principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of the causes (the “vital few”). Other names for this principle are the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity.
I believe The Pareto Principle is alive and well today.
80% of the people in the world are attempting to figure out how to "crack the code" of success, while 20% have done so.
80% of the people on...
Are you making these five mistakes when you tell your time where to go instead of wondering where it went?
If so, know that you're not alone. Many people do.
But fear not! I've got your back!
Mistake #1: Not Planning.
Have you ever failed to get something done? Was it planned? You are operating in PROactive mode instead of REactive mode when you plan.
There's a classic carnival game called Whac-A-Mole. This is how it is described on Wikipedia: "A typical Whac-A-Mole machine consists of a...
Overwhelm is killing your productivity.
I will share four familiar sources of overwhelm in this post and tell you what to do about them.
I was going to give you a definition of overwhelm, but then I realized you know what overwhelm is.
So, on with the list...
Number one: endless to-do lists.
In Israel, there's something called the Dead Sea. It's called the Dead Sea because the water flows in, but water doesn't flow out. As a result, it becomes stagnant, and nothing can...
As a productivity expert, I know the power of taking care of myself.
I've learned about the importance of and have been eating less processed food (including drinking Diet Coke).
When I feed my body good food - food that it wants, I have more energy.
So I get more things done.
But this last week, I went off-the-rails.
Last Friday, my youngest daughter - whom I haven't seen in over two years, came to visit for a week.
And then it was Father's Day (Sunday) and my birthday (Monday).
Two days ago, I celebrated birthday number 56.
And while I love birthdays, they're my favorite day of the year, I stopped to think about how time seems to be moving faster and faster with each passing birthday.
While I was born in June 1965, it really doesn't seem that long ago.
I don't feel...old.
In fact, the better I take care of myself by running every day (since August 29, 2017), eating less processed food (except for Father's Day and my birthday!), and getting 7 hours of sleep most...
Nike's slogan, Just Do It, was first used by the company in 1988.
Today, it's a part of our vernacular.
While a pithy and powerful slogan, it is definitely easier said than done.
Think for a moment of the list of "shoulds" you've accumulated in your mind over the years.
I love how Tony Robbins puts it: we're shoulding all over ourselves.
Isn't it time you stopped shoulding and start doing?
- stop thinking about getting a new job instead of thinking about how you no longer...
