Don't Do This (A Rant)

email list productivity Jan 18, 2021

In this video, I have a rant for you. A rant about something that really annoys me.

Just because you have someone's email address does not mean they gave you permission to add them to your email list.

In Canada, the United States, and the European Union, you can be fined heavily for adding people to your email list without their permission.

So don't do it.

Because if you add me to your email list without my permission, I will never, ever buy from you.

I will automatically report you as spam and I will never buy from you. That's not a way to start a relationship.

What I do for those who join the Mark Struczewski Insider, if they send me a DM
and say, "add me to your list",  I send them the link and I tell them, "go add yourself" because when you add yourself to an email list, it captures your IP address, and it protects the sender.

So if you are in the habit of adding people to your newsletter list, please stop. Don't do this. Not only is it against the law, but it's also very annoying.
