The First 60 to 90 Minutes of Your Day

What do you do the first 60 to 90 minutes after you wake up?

I want you to think about that.

So maybe your alarm clock goes off, or maybe you naturally wake up.

What do you do?

Do you roll back over and try to get a few more minutes of sleep?

Or do you do what I do?

Something I learned from Robin Sharma's bestselling book, The 5 AM Club, is I get up at five o'clock in the morning, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

I get up, put my feet on the floor, immediately make my bed.

Then, I get dressed appropriately, depending on the weather, and go for a 9 to 10-minute brisk walk around my neighborhood.

Now in his book The 5 AM Club, which I highly recommend you pick up and read, he talks about the importance of moving first thing in the morning.

And then there are some other things he goes through you should do first thing in the morning as well.

But what you shouldn't do is pick up your phone.

I don't look at my iPhone for the first 60 minutes of the day.

No email, no social media, no news, no text messages.

I want to start my day on my terms.

So I encourage you to think about what you do in the first 60 to 90 minutes
of you waking up.

It's really important because that sets the tone for the entire day.

Wake up smartly, stay in control, have a super productive day.
