How to Make This Week Your Best Week EverMay 04, 2021
How to make this week your best week ever.
Guess what? It's not that hard. It's really not that difficult to make this your best week ever.
One of my favorite words is the word intentionality.
If you want this week to be your best week ever, you have to be intentional about it. You can't leave having your best week you've ever had to chance, to luck, to hope to prayer. I mean, certainly do pray, but you've got to do the work. And I think the work all starts with intentionality.
For me, it's all about planning. I'm always saying, "Tell your time where to go instead of wondering where it went." Tell your time where to go through proactive planning instead of wondering where it went.
I don't want you just to plan the important things. That's one of the biggest mistakes that people when they are planning their weeks. They are planning the "real things" like coaching calls, zoom meetings, going to the doctor, and stuff like that. I think you should plan other things as well.
How about time for personal development? I schedule at least one 50-minute chunk of time every day to read. Maybe you go to a webinar. Or write a blog post. Or you create some podcast episodes of your podcast. Or you start a podcast. Put it on your schedule but don't plan every single minute. This is so important. Allow your schedule to breathe.
One of the things I do is schedule my time as much as possible in 50-minute chunks. My Apple Watch alarm is set to go off every hour at 50 minutes past from 8:50 am to 5:50 pm. That's my cue to stop what I'm doing, get up, walk around, go outside, throw the ball for the dog, or something like that. And then I move on to my next task,
Another thing you do to make this week your best week ever is to embrace positivity. We are experiencing a lot of negativity, a lot of divisiveness, a lot of anger. That is not going to help you have your best week ever. I know it's a challenge not to get sucked into the vortex of negativity but I want you to embrace positivity and reject negativity. And that includes people.
When you are happy, you will be more productive than if you're not. And if most of your friends are not happy, then maybe you need to spend less time with them and find people who are going to encourage you.
