I Went Off the Rails This Week

As a productivity expert, I know the power of taking care of myself.

I've learned about the importance of and have been eating less processed food (including drinking Diet Coke).

When I feed my body good food - food that it wants, I have more energy.

So I get more things done.

But this last week, I went off-the-rails.

Last Friday, my youngest daughter - whom I haven't seen in over two years, came to visit for a week.

And then it was Father's Day (Sunday) and my birthday (Monday).

While I dutifully logged all of what I consumed in my Cronometer app, it was still a horrible week of me taking care of myself foodwise.

I still got plenty of vitamin D from the sun, did fairly well with my sleep, and continued my run-every-day streak.

But, oh my goodness!

I consumed so much 💩 over the past 7 days.

Why I'm not worried about going off-the-rails

In the 3 weeks before this past week, I'd cut out nearly all processed foods and stayed away from the Diet Coke, lost nearly 10 pounds, and felt awesome

I know I can do it again.

And I will.

Starting Sunday.

Why Sunday?

Because we have to purge all the processed 💩 out of the house (I refuse to throw out food even though it's processed). Thankfully, we don't have a lot of it left.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

When you go off-the-rails (notice I didn't say if), extend yourself grace.

Everyone does from time to time. It's part of life.

But not everyone extends themselves grace.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to have, well, you don't want to know...

Grace, grace, grace. 😀
