5 Quirks About Mark StruczewskiMay 08, 2020
Of course, you do.
It's just that most people keep their quirks to themselves.
I've got to be me. Strange as I am.
First, what does quirk mean anyways?
The official definition of quirk is "a peculiar behavioral habit".
So, in an effort to share more about me with you, here are five quirks about me. Maybe you knew these, maybe not.
After you finish reading, please leave a comment below!
I love Christian hip hop
Yes, there is such a thing.
What is Christian hip hop?
It's awesome hip hop music with one BIG difference: it's all about the Bible, Jesus and all that He has done for us.
Of course, there's no swearing in it.
You can catch me listening to this music on my daily runs or whenever Michelle is out shopping (it's not her cup of tea, as much as I've tried to convince her!).
My favorite Christian hip hop artists include:
- Toby Mac
- Dru Bex
- Andy Mineo
- Aaron Cole
- Social Club Misfits
- Roy Tosh
- Hillsong Young & Free (the remixes)
- Derek Minor
Check them out on Apple Music, Spotify, or wherever you listen to music. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised Christian music could sound so good. (And you don't have to be a Christian.)
I talk to myself...a lot!
Maybe it's the creative inside in me.
Or maybe I'm just weird.
It could very well be both!
To be honest, I rarely do this when there are other human beings around (including Michelle), but Gracie (our nearly 2-year-old Black Lab mix) and our two geriatric cats? Yeah. They're not spared.
Truthfully, talking to myself helps me to think clearly. It helps me to piece things together.
Sometimes, when I'm preparing to give a presentation (in-person or virtually), I will pace around our house and practice out loud. Over and over and over because I don't like to use notes.
But it's not just for business stuff.
I've been known to pretend what I'd say if I suddenly became the Apple or Walt Disney World CEO (when this happens, you can say "I remember when..."). Oh...I've got opinions, yo! 🤣
I love The Walking Dead
For this, I have to give blame, er, credit where credit is due: my daughter, Hannah.
Several years ago, she introduced me to a show called The Walking Dead.
Because I wanted to bond, I began watching it with her. It wasn't long before I was hooked.
Not only am I up-to-date (no spoilers here!) but I am going through withdrawal because Covid19 has delayed the season 10 finale!
Bring back the dead! 💀
I have saved ALL of my Apple boxes
If you're not an Apple freak like me, this may cause you to question my sanity. But I assure you I am not alone! Lots of people do this.
I've got Apple boxes from every Apple product we've ever purchased:
- iPhones (from the 4S to the current XR, which is pronounced ten-R) - some of which we no longer own (but still have the boxes!)
- Apple TV (4th gen, we sold our 3rd gen and shipped it in its box to the buyer)
- Apple Watches (when my wife, Michelle, and I got Series 5 Cellular Watches, I shipped my Series 3 GPS to the aforementioned Hannah, in its box)
- MacBook Air
I'm so nutty that I ensure that these boxes are never damaged. I treat them as if they were the actual product.
I love the splash screen for Apple TV+ original shows
Okay, this is really strange.
If you've never watched an Apple TV+ original show, there's an awesome splash screen that comes on right before the show. It's on an all-black screen with a gorgeous Apple TV+ logo and an unbelievably cool sound.
It only lasts for 3 seconds...but it's awesome!
