You don’t just become more productive because you wake up one day with a desire to be.
And hoping you become so is not a great strategy.
But neither do you need to spend your precious time researching the habits that will help you be a more productive person.
Here are eight habits that will improve your productivity immediately.
If you’re not doing any of these or if you’re doing just a few, good for you for acknowledging that.
But let this list make you feel overwhelmed.
In August 2017, I spoke to APICS Houston. One of the attendees asked a great question, and in this episode, you get to listen in. Also included: don't trust your brain, get stuff out of your head, the psychology of productivity, taking responsibility for your productivity, and more!
No one I have ever met has said, “I hope that I have an unproductive day today.”
And yet I’ve met more than a few people who have no idea how to have a tremendously productive day.
There are several reasons why this is so:
- not knowing how which is something this article will help with
- lack of motivation
- not feeling well mentally or physically
Not only is it possible to have a productive day every day but it’s simple to do once you know how.
Recently, J. Scott Christianson invited Mark to participate in a Q&A session with his Business Process and Technologies class at the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Mark gave tips to help the students be productive.
How fast is life going for you?
I bet pretty fast.
I’m 55 years young. And in July 1997, I moved from Rochester, NY down to Houston, TX. Recently, I was thinking, “Holy cow, I’ve lived here over 23 years already!”
Time keeps marching on and it keeps speeding up. I don’t care how old you are.

Are you ready for this?
Can you handle the truth?
Yes, you can.
The secret to being the most productive version of you is to do what you love to do where you love to do it.

See, a lot of us are so busy at our job as entrepreneurs that we don't stop and think
about setting expectations.
One expectation you can set is, how long is it going to be before you reply to a customer email.
Is it four hours? Is it 24 hours? Is it a week?
You can't expect your customers to know your expectations that you...
