podcast Jan 25, 2019

Yes, it IS possible to be productive and have a smartphone. But it requires you to step up and be the one in control instead of letting your smartphone be the boss.

There are countless benefits of smartphone technology and in this post, I give you some suggestions to make your phone your ally.

I believe technology is a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because it allows us to do so much at our fingertips: stay in touch via email, texting, or social media.

A curse because it can be a time suck. Spending too much time in email (which is just a place where people drop problems into your lap), texting friends, or social media (do I really need to talk about this?)

Let's focus on the GOOD that technology brings us with an emphasis on smartphones.

Note: it doesn’t matter what smartphone you use but as an Apple fanboy (no apologies), I may refer to my iPhone a lot but it’s not meant to offend anyone.

productivity Jan 18, 2019

How would you like to know the secrets to have an unbelievably unproductive, miserable and frustrating day, week, month, or year?

Well, I got you!

Here are 21 things you need to in order to your most unproductive self.

  3. Encourage people in your office to always CC you. Even on emails that have nothing to do with you.
  4. Don't plan. In fact, just delete that calendar app you love so much and/or throw away your paper planner. Remember, stay in REactive mode.
  5. Say yes to every request you get. It doesn't matter what the request is, just say yes!
  6. See how many YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or other videos you can watch in one sitting. Again, make a game of it and invite your friends.
  7. When...

But...you can't.

You have the best of intentions but you just can't seem to get moving.

If you have, rest assured...you're not alone. We've all been there. Even me...Mister Productivity!

Not too long ago, I returned from visiting my parents.

For the first time in a few years, it was just me and my parents.

I had a great time but…as an entrepreneur…

I returned ready to get back to work stronger than ever.

That's when reality hit.

I scheduled a half-day to catch up - which was my first mistake. It took far longer than that to catch up.

But once I did catch up, my motivation wasn't there.
