This is the Mark Struczewski podcast. Okay, on this episode, I'm gonna do something a little bit different. I don't have a guest today, but I thought it would be fun, because I know people don't follow me on all the social media platforms. And so I thought it'd be interesting to take my eight most popular snaps from last week, the week of August 31st, and share them on the podcast today. Now you may be saying to yourself, I'm sorry, you're going to share a what? A snap? Snapchat is an app. It's one of my favorite apps on the social media world, universe, whatever you want to say. And so several times a day, I will share a video, a 60 second video on Snapchat. I also share that on Instagram Reels and TikTok and sometimes on LinkedIn. But on Snapchat, I am getting massive amounts of views. So that's why I'm referring to this podcast of In Case You Missed It: Snaps From Last Week, because these are actually Snapchats from last week. You don't have to follow me on Snapchat, although it would be really cool if you did, because here are my eight most popular snaps from last week. I hope you enjoy.
I have an obscurity problem. But I'm actively taking care of that. How? By posting on social media all the time. I mean all the time. And it's starting to irritate some people. And that's okay. Because if me posting all the time irritates you, then unfollow me. There are so many people on the various social media platforms that if you're only posting once a day or once a week, no one knows you exists. I'm a productivity expert and trainer and overall overwhelmed buster. And I want you to know who I am. And so what I do is I post a lot. Sometimes I give you tips. Sometimes I just share my journey. But my security problem is going away.
You know I was stinking these last couple days, I have purposely stopped watching so much news and checking in on social media and wonders of wonders, I feel better. It's amazing. When you're not getting sucked into the vortex of negativity and the blame game and all the hatred and divisiveness, how much better you feel. So I want to encourage you: stay informed, not obsessed. Know what's going out in the world. But no more. You'll feel a lot better emotionally, spiritually, physically, you'll have less stress and a lot less overwhelm.
Well, another easy day for me just two miles. It is so humid in Houston this morning. It was like running in the sauna. Man, you leave your conditioned house and you go out into a sauna and try to run three miles. Not an easy thing. But it's okay because according Strava, I am still like 43 miles ahead of my pace to run 1,000 miles this year, which means somewhere around the second or third week of November, I will hit the coveted 1,000 miles. So when it's hot and humid like a sauna here in Houston, I'm just going to run shortly and walk home. Still close my rings, but I won't be gassed for the rest of the day.
I don't know if I am using my brain or if I'm stupid. The other day I was outside and I noticed that there was a wasp nest under construction. And I don't like wasps. They can sting you. So I didn't have any Raid or anything like that. So I went in the house and I got some Lysol foam toilet bowl cleaner. Walked up to the nest and squirted it and killed the nest. Didn't get stung. But they were flying around. Today, I found out they were building another nest, three/four feet away from where the other one was. So I sprayed them again. Mayeb they'll get the point, maybe they won't. But I got plenty of Lysol foamer. Come on. wasps, what you got? Throw your best at me. Just don't sting me.
You get one life. And I encourage you, no matter how old or how young you are, you live the life you want. So many people are looking at celebrities, whether they're entrepreneur celebrities, or music celebrities, or whatever the case may be. And they're thinking, Wow, if only. If only I could achieve that. But you know, you look at superstars like Taylor Swift or DJ Khaled. They worked really, really hard for a very long time to get where they are. So, if you want to achieve your wildest dreams, you have to do a Grant Cardone says: you have to 10X your efforts. Massive efforts yields massive success. Go get yours.
I'm fixing to go outside and get some vitamin D. Vitamin D from the sun. There is no better way to get vitamin D and vitamin D is a way you can boost your immune system so that you can fight off illnesses and viruses. Now I'm not a doctor. So do your own research. But people recommend getting between 7,000 and 12,000 IUs of the sun as often as you can. It's going to boost your immune system. And it's going to strengthen your ability to fight off sickness and illnesses. So whenever it's sunny here in Houston, I go get as much sun as I can. Because I want to say healthy. I'm 56 years young, Don't believe me? Do your own research. Vitamin D is so powerful. And you can't overdose from vitamin D from the sun. Have a great day.
Running every day for me it's like a form of medication, it's true. I just finished my second mile. And I got a great idea. I don't have anything to write it down with, I could put it on my phone, but it's a great idea. I won't forget about it. And so that goes on my to do list for today. You see sometimes when you get out from your normal areas, you get these great ideas. So be on lookout for that very soon. You know, it's a great idea, because I'll probably reference I got the idea when on my run. It's a good one. It's Friday, make it the best Friday you've ever had.
You have a Ring doorbell camera? Or do you have any kind of security camera outside your home? We've got them. And the ones outside are all battery operated. And every once a while, you got to charge the batteries up. Got to charge your cell phone battery, your Watch battery, your laptop battery, it's just the way things work. But you also need to make sure you're charging your own battery. Now you don't have a physical battery, unless you're a robot watching this video. But you've got to take care of yourself. You charge your battery by getting rest. Like not doing anything rest, like just sit in front of the TV, watching your favorite TV show. Or reading a book or, here's an idea, taking a nap. Make sure you're taking care of yourself, make sure your battery is fully charged so you can be the most productive version of yourself.
What choice are you going to make today? Life is a series of choices. Life is a series of making the right decisions and you won't always make the right decision. But if you want to go forward, if you want to be the best version of yourself, you have to make the right choices. How do you make the right choices? Hang around the right people. You study the right people. You read the right books, you attend to right webinars, you attend the right conferences. Because everyday you live is proof of whether you have a growth mindset or not. And I want to encourage you to live the life you want to live and you do that by making the right choices.
